Okay, sry that nvr post since CIBTC POP. Was sick for pop, missed it. then was special parade trainings, busy until now.

so review on 2010.

2010 was a very fruitful and eventful year for me. Packed to the core and stressed up quite as much.
I rmb the first week was the hardcore one. With every teachers coming in to say A1 A1 A1. Hope to get them at the end. Piled up with work and stuffs, prep for o levels is always tedious and the stress pile up as the exam draw nearer. But actual o level was sought of okay and average.

CHS
A great memory and a fun plac to be in. Now officially as an alumni. I am proud to be part of the 75th anniversary cohort and hope to deliver the grades as well. A place where I had truely develop my leadership skills and hone my personality.

RIV
Back in action this year with camps and stuffs. Finally able to help out in 2010 with p4 and p5 camps. Being the senior facs, a great experience, more things to help out. Alumni can look forward to more activities in 2011, and hope to still have time to help out.

NPCC
Cadet life not that smooth for start of year. But learn many things along the way. Started my officer life. Participated in CIBTC D10 and certainly is the best leadership course that i have ever been. Friendship and the bond that i gained is even better and stronger. Been with them for like the whole of my holidays. Love them lots. Hope to keep the passion on. Look forward for many stuffs in 2011. Special Parade and NPAP. Hope to be a CII too. Expect myself to be busy cus of NPCC. More gatherings and more events to be involved.

So new year resolutions for 2011.
Be a better leader and a better person. Able to influence cadets that want to learn. And be a better friend, better partner. Hope to smile more and bring more laughter. Be more proficient in my hard skills and be an all rounder. Be loved and love others.

CIBTC Residential Course 2

this week was over. More challenging,more fun, more taxing week. it was residential course 2 for CIBTC D10. RC2 was more packed with POP trainings and less of drills clarifiaction and more on campcraft knowledge.

First 4D3N was residential in HTA. Same bunk. Bunk 31 at charlie coy. Drills was fun and but my heel injury seems not getting any better. But manage to overcome the pain in the process. Hope that it will heal before POP. Was in the selection for sword drills which i really enjoyed. Gracefulness and precision. Campcraft learn many things that i dun actually know. Was quick in learning them. Delta is a big family, although sometimes very quiet, but we know what we are heading to - Faster, sharper and better than the rest.

On the last day, it was at Ubin. Went around to do tent pitching and flag staff. First time erecting a flagstaff. Was happy about that. Did with only 2 other pple, gwen and weiquan. Although 3 man doing, we were the first to erect. Ubin is going to be my home for the last phase 4d3n, hope to have fun, and hope that my heels wun affect much of my movement.

Sat, when some were resting, the selection of sword bearers were in the process. After some practices, we were trained in our WOC. Results will be make known soon and hope to get some positions or becoming the PC. It will be such a glory and pride.
after that had lunch, meet some peeps at army market, as usual it was noisy as A-B were there. After that, went to tampines to watch Rupanzel with Delta mates. Interesting plot from disney. had supper and went home with gwen.

Till now, the course was fun and had enrich me alot. Soft and hard skills. Reinforce my leadership skills. Interesting to get to know more about others, and how others think of me. Receiving many feedbacks and hope to get more. Next time when i post should be POP, so i look forward for the next post.

CIBTC Residential Course 1

Finally have sometime to blog about RC1. Was back on friday, and since then was preparing lesson plans and polishing uniform.

RC1, a 5d2n stay in, was pretty exciting, fun, tiring, taxing. First day, reach there like too early, waited for awhile before going into HTA. Waited for CIIs to come, get to know my grouping. So I was in Delta, and ATC group 4. Was quite blur at the start.

Throughout the RC1, we have lectures on various topics and numerous discussions. Hard skills like drills were recapped campcrafts practice. Finally manage to hold a sword. Hope to hold it soon again in RC2. THen mnore covering of hard skills. the third day was packed with drills, so all were mainly exhausted and legs were sore and numb. I think i hurt my nerve then. Now still in pain. But endurable, so nvm. Also went for dry practice. Torres .38 revolver. Hope to get marksman, since no time limit. NRA target will still be my enermy.

Delta squad. An interesting squad. Not very strong in hard skills, especially drills, but can see quite an interesting environment to learn in. Hard skills need some polishing. I believe RC2 is when we perform as we work like one big family.

CIIs. Delta squad CIIs are Maam Theresa and Maam Xiaowen. Both can see that they are putting their effort. I appreciate them as well as the others CIIs. Losing their voice and stuffs. So we should really put in our 100% everytime.

Weekends, met up with one or two for atc proposal. Doing lesson plans. Preparing uniforms. Helping squadmates. Managing fb. Quite taxing, but hope to help the rest. Need some rest today, and recharge my adrenaline level, so RC2, a 4d3n will be much better.

Uniform Collection @HTA

Gonna blog something on this dead blog. Last monday went to HTA to get the accourtments for the upcoming CIBTC. Estimated my time too early again, went window shopping at Lot 1 shopping mall. Then stone outside mac, then stone at the bus interchange.

After that, took bus 172 to HTA, with many of the others who are there. Reached and followed instructions on the boards. Arranged the documents and fallen in. Waited for the instructors and started some checking of attire. Have to change my specs. Cus too striking. After that, nothing went wrong with my documents, went down to the stall to collect uniform parts. Got two sets of uniform. Finally, got the peak cap, and also the zipper boots. Then collected manuals and coporate bag. Draw No.1 and then went back to the Everest Room. Handed in the forms and key in the particulars in a laptop. Waited in the room for some others and chatted with some new friends.

After a long wait, briefing started. Ended quite late.

Lots of things to do now. Polishing of the boots, which is quite tedious, and buying lots of other stuffs. Gonna be off for RC1 next monday, then back on friday. RC2 next next monday, then back on friday. Then ATC, then POP. Hope everything goes fine.

Grad Nite ' 2010

ytd was grad night. Overall, it was quite okay,not very fun, some times quite boring. But have fun sitting with friends and making laughters in the air.

Grad nite was held at Marriot. Went there quite early, estimated too much. Ended up shopping at lucky plaza for stuffs. Saw something that i would like to buy, but did not buy as it will be quite wierd going to prom later. Next time i will go buy it.

Then went to Marriot and waited for the class to come. Everyone was well attired. As the dress code was semi-formal, many was formal enough, some very nice, some seem like casual wear. But nvm, pretty nice to see everyone in a smart set of clothings.

Collected some souvenirs and sponsors. Crammed outside the hall for quite awhile and then went in. Few teachers came, dissappointed though. After that, started some meal. Buffet style, it was delicious and appetising. Then was some events, games, and feel quite bored in between. as usual, i was not the lucky man, no prizes won. dion won an ipad, so goooooooooood. Saw one of my juniors working part time there, was wondering why the face look so familiar. I wonder when will i go get some job to do. Not so young though.

Went home after that. Caught up with some friends on the MRT. Quite a proper nite for everyone, and leaving the last memories of CHS. many schs are having proms these fewdays. Most of them are smart dresscode, so quite lucky for CHS to be semiformal.I think is the only sch with such a laxing dress code.

Wish all CHS 2010 Cohort to continue with CHS spirit as they move on with their lifes and good luck for all our future endeavours.

Os are OVER!!!

Finally, after 4 years of studying,and some extreme revision over the past weeks,
the O level had come to an end.

O level started with a bang last month with the Eng paper and slowly, day by day, the papers past and here I am, 3 weeks after the first paper started. Bio MCQ paper was the last one. Papers were average, some were toughter, some simpler, made some careless mistakes here and there. Hope to get good results in the end.

So now, Os are over. What am I going to do? Not much of a worry, cause my schedule is certainly packed for now. Many things to complete over the remaining holidays. CIBTC will constitute most of my time for now, with UC and Day0 in two weeks time. Hope to gain new stuffs there. Still got some leadership stuffs to plan.

Going out with friends, to various places. Want to watch Harry Potters and the Deathly Hallows soon. And to train up my stamina for the course. Many many things are in my plan.

Reading some leadership books nowadays. I strongly recommend to novice leaders to read "Leadership and Motivation - The Key to Achieve what you want in Life" by Elvin Vong. A very detailed and complete book.

Gonna be busy soon, so try to update this blog as much as I could.

Have been busy past few weeks, taking time to study as hard as i could. not much time left. 80 plus day left for olevels. eng oral coming in 3 weeks time. prelim coming at the end of august. so much things to do. been up to alot of revision nowadays. hope to end all this soon.

national day in 7 days time. gonna look forward for that break.

RIV P4 Camp 2010

RIV P4 camp was finally over since a few months long preparation. Good job by all facilitators once again, creating another peak for the standard of camp. Peak after peak, thats what we are aiming for, and i believe next few camps will definitely improve.

1st Day
went to sch just around the time to board the bus. Wait for a while, then departed for Jalan Bahtera Campsite. It was at a quite ulu place, at a very cornered place at lim choa kang. In the bus was quite high, as all facils are ready to start work. Reached there around 3.30 then started work. Walk around the campsite, and just roaming with ben to see what can be done. Help out with some activities and took some photos.

Then dinner, was quite okay, then went for next activity. Twin tower. The senior facs all preparing for surprise for the facils at the second floor. Started preparing water bombs from the toilet. Prepared around 50++ water bombs. After that, when the kids are all wet, the facils eventually were the ones getting wet, by how, flying waterbombs and pail of water from second level. none was dry at the end. but fun ended quite abruptly with some unhappiness. Eventually was wash up then supper. Supper was in bad mood also, so dun mention over here. Then debrief for the kids. Then got the kids to sleep. As expected, more scolding is needed for the kids to get sleeping.

After that debrief, many things to mention, but all was worth it as second day proved that all facils had listened. then debriefed until around 1230 then dismissed all for wash up. Then went for senior facs briefing. Plan with edward for the next days activity, with support of marilyn and binglin at the side. And josh and ben for bbq food. planned all, went to bath then prepare the video. Finished the video at around 3 plus. then went to rest. at the centre bunk which is for senior facs. Slept at basement first, with all other seniors facs, but around 1 hour later, it started pouring, then went up to sleep. Super cold then. But after awhile woke up, then help to do sentry at my area cus it is quite rainy then. Check safety. So in total slept for 1 hour.like the average of wat all the others senior facs.

2nd Day
Rain started to subside, but still need to do some saikang in the rain. But nvm, did with edward. Played with our jackets. Funny. Then rushed them back to canteen for breakfast. Then started wet weather plan. Helped out with the teambuilding games, very funny for the group who came to me. Chicky dance by ezra. After that, was called by ed to do some wet weather plan. Then stayed at senior facs "command post". Trying out the walkie. fun sia. But at that time damn presurizing, pressing for time. but everything went well. after that, area cleaning, clear bunk, then took first bus back to riv. once reach back, settled the logistics for mini olympics. when i finished preparing, the rest was all back. so juz nice for lunch. briefed faci on games, then went back to hall. then was my activity. briefed the kids, then off they go. played with the airhorn, but proven to be very scary. but time short, snowball effect kicks in, until i cannot push anymore, ended the game. after that outdoor cooking. then my dinner.then started the preparing for camp fire. was with the walkie. called in alot of time. fun.

campfire, very shiok. started out like zi hai. at the back, performance by senior facs, gee, very nice. then my video. ended with the song. shouting the song, waving the flag. super nice. like one big family. after that campfire close, went back hall for debrief. took group photos went for supper.

This camp was very enjoyable. Thanks the seniors for the hard work in making the camp possible and helping out in previous years. Wish you all good luck in your future years. Taken new responsibilities, more committment, but i will definitely enjoy. once a riverlite, always a riverlite. look forward for the next gathering. thanks the seniors for passing down their legacy smoothly to us. and skills that i found very valuable during this camp. learnt most of the skills needed. I learnt many things during the camp adn i hope all facils had learnt something out of this camp.

RVPS P5 Camp 2010

Its been exactly 1 week since the camp had ended. RVPS P5 Camp 2010 is the last P5 camp going to be held in the school as the school is replacing it with a P4 camp starting at July this year. I had finally been able to help out since graduation at 2006. Being affected by cca and school activity, this year is my first year officially as a camp facilitator, or perhaps a senior mentor. It is warming to see such a strong group of alumni in this primary school and I am certainly proud to be part of this strong alumni group, while other school might not even have enough "loyal" alumni to be helping out in their camp.

1st Day
Went to school right after my school annual sports meet. Unknown of the future, impending all the new stuffs as it is still my first year in the camp. But stepping up as a senior mentor, there is certainly much more to look on. Reach sch, signed in, and start to find things to do. Settle the students, then wanted to take my dinner, but have to postpone my meal cus of some prize presentation ceremony. It turned out to be a giving of camp facil t-shirt by Mr Mah, the new RVPS principal. Took my camp t-shirt and was proud to be singing my alpha mater school song once again ending with the chorus after the first verse. Then everything continued. Activity started and started my job officially. It was the night treasure hunt. Went for my quick dinner and join the rest in helping the activity. It was fun going to all places in the school, reviving my memories in the school. After that, i think it was wash up cum supper. Help out with the wash up, rushing all the kids as they r reluctant to separate from the clothes. Encourage and off they went bathing. Talk with some of the juniors and teach they something in the end. This year seems to have a lot more new faces and had a hard time recognising them, which i am quite okay now with the new faces. After wash up, had some quick supper, and it was briefing for the campers for next day sengkang explorer, as well as the facils. I was part of the roaming group. After that, sleeping time, gotten the campers to sleep and back to ava room for debrief. Indeed, some bad news, but everyone gotten the message. Had nothing to contribute for debrief while the senior old birds were sharing their thoughts. Me and ben sitting aside, listening, while yx went to talk.

After the debrief, everyone dispersed for their bathing. Me and ben and yx were collating the meals for supper. Had a long time, retook orders again and again and finally settled. We went to bath, last, and then awaited for the meal to come. In the end, some unpleasant things happen, but managed to settle in the end. Talk to some of the facils, then back to music room to sleep.

Day 2
Woke up at 5.30. Should be the first. Changed to the camp facil t-shirt which was designed by me. The design the altered a bit. The shirt was orange in colour, quite nice and every facil was wearing it in the morning. After i finished, most of the facils was up, including hte girls. Went up the hall, surprised, campers were also all up already. After that, back to hall, help to settle the campers down, then was breakfast. After that, rushed through my breakfast, then had a briefing for sengkang explorer. Not long, me and ben set off for the safety checks. But mainly our responsibiility was to demerit and merit the groups which had done badly or do somehthing right. Went round and round, then came back to school for lunch. Rushed through again, was helping out with the cultural thingy, but needed to bring a lost sheep back to his group, took a wrong round, and went round and round. Then decided to be patrolling again, this time talking to axel at a station. After that, finally finished, went back sch, the campers brought down their barangbarangs, and then dinner. Rushed through again, was so full after the dinner. After that was camp fire prep for campers and facils. Settle some chairs quickly and joined the rest in the hall for some cheers and rally by edward and josh. Fun, learnt much from them. Then off for chicken dance and stuffs. Was so high by then. Then proceeded down for campfire. Everything was in place. Started everythign.

Campfire was fun. Video. Then presentation of certs. Then cheers from each grp. Then highlights. The senior facilitator (the very old birds) put up a dance performance for everyone. Called the wonder boys dancing "Nobody". Very nice. THen ended off with prize presentation again. Ben and Emily was the best facilitator.

Campfire ended and started to dismiss the campers. The facils meet up later, and principal talk to us. Then we discuss more. and we retreated to canteen for the final performance. By the SF. THen most went to KFC or Mac to have supper. Me and ben was discussing for the next camp plan.

Reflections
I will like to thank all the senior mentor (edward, joshua, clinton, alastair)for their guidance. Although this year is their last year, and passing down the torch, you all had left a great legacy behind and we look forward in seeing you all 3 years later after your army. Thanks for the wonderful dance also.

Although being in the camp for 1 year, its been a whole new experience for myself, even being through so much different camps. Everything is a new learning experience. I myself had gained many skills and knowledge throughout the camp and I believe all the facils did as we enjoyed our time during the camp. I am pleased to even see it myself that the facils are growing up and becoming more mature as they become leaders. There is a difference between the first day and second day. I wanted to point it out on the debrief on the second day but due to time constraint, i have to do it here. From maids, you all become guides. From facils, you all become soul-mates and friends of the campers. From mature kids, you all become sensible leaders.

This experience I will never forget. I had certainly able to suck in all the valuable experiences and knowledge which will be applicable for me in the next camp. I and ben will try our very best, and will certainly bring the camp to a whole new level. Together with all the facils, we thank the 4 old birds for their contribution as we will see you once again as senior facils for the last time during the upcoming p4 camp.

P5 camp is over.
Here comes P4 camp. Everything will start new. Everything will improve. Every year will be total new experience for the facils and campers.

Passing Out Parade 2010

Its been 4 years for me in this cca since I first step in as a cadet in 2007. Its been a very fruitful period in my life and had brought me fond memories and had certainly mould me to what I am here today. I am proud to say I am in 31st Batch and certainly proud to be CHSNPCC member. The skills that had been given to me will definitely be useful in my impending future.

In 2007, being adaptive to the new secondary school environment, I set foot in choosing my CCA, which will be part of seconadry school life. Not knowing why, or perhaps my interest in police stuffs, I entered NPCC as my first choice. Coming down for the first training, I first saw my squad leaders, Xuhao,Zhengjun and Tuckwai, and first time being part of 31st Batch. First year has been a tough one, needing to constantly improve myself and instilling discipline and teamwork together. But we had pulled through.As the year went along, the squad became more bonded and not long 28th batch stepped down, and working with our new squadleaders- Junwei, Leonard and Xingyu.

In 2008, officially as a senior now. Knew more things and certainly more demands to meet. At the start, gotten my LCP rank and some badges. Courses and events started to swarm in, but nevertheless manage to complete. 29th badge ofiicially step down and we work with our new squad leaders- Ruijie, Leh Chuan and Xavier. Went for the Malaysia overseas trip and had gotten new friendship, but unluckily, this friendship did not managed to last long after the trip was over.

In 2009, perhaps the most exciting time of my CCA life. Being the senior of the seniors, we had the increasing no. of scolding, but together as a batch, we had survived. Remembering the time where I prepared for my .22 classification, first detail of my squad to go into the range, managed to calm my nerves, and thankfully all pay off, getting full marks in the end. NPAP is also one of my highlights. Being one of the member in GOH, I am proud to represent my school and get the opportunity to wear the No.1 and the GOH badge.Around June, my batch had finally taken over as NCO. I am honoured to be the Chairman of the 31st Batch NOC council. Although some screwups here and there, we had managed to learn and consistently improve ourself. I am also honoured to be the parade commander of CHS ndp parade, as I also be part of the organizing committee and it had certainly broaden my prospectives. The camps and hikes also gave me a wonderful experience as our planning and organization skills were put to the test. The times where my buddies and i that slept for 1 hour was certainlly ardous, but we managed to pull through. Another fond memories that I had was perhaps the overseas trip to Hongkong and macau when I had a great memories with 29 individuals. This trip has certainly changed my views on some issues and I had certainly gained frinedship which is still present until now as we meet up for events or group studying. If people know me well enough, you might think why I changed in attitude, it is because of this trip.

In 2010, everything is comming to an end. Things dun last long. As a reshuffle in the NCO council, I became the co-chairman as others had to have the opprtunities to lead. I have gotten my SPF-NPCC badge and also the Best Unit Cadet badge. I has been a long way in obtaining all this badges, making it a remarkable 20 badges in total. Quite a high no. of badges that was attained.

Yesterday, my NPCC life have officially ended. Good luck to the incoming NCO council, as you all push CHSNPCC to a greater heights. I had great fun ytd during the concert and thanks for the gifts you all have given me. As I focus on my studies for the next few months, my heart will stay with you all, and i promise, at the end of the year, I will be back and make my life cross path with NPCC again.

31st Batch - Thanks for working with me as we forged this unbbreakable brotherhood between us. Hope all of you excel in your studies and hope we stayed bonded forever.

Officers - Thanks for your guidance and patience as we learnt from our mistakes. The scoldings had became one of our fond memeries that we will never forget and the learning experience that bring with us throughout our lifes.

Cadets - Thanks for the opportunity for us to test out our leadership skills as we inspire you to improve. Do not complain on the trainings as it is meant for you to improve and one day become like us or even better. Tough time dun last, tough men do.

OEV HK - Thankyou for the wonderful experience, and changing my personality which i feel happy about now and pls meet up soon for gatherings or group study.

As I end off, this 4 years have been a tough ones, but we had passed the test as we threw our berets high ytd, marking the end of the NPCC life. But never forget the experience and learnings in this cca, we had certainly gained a lot. I will end off with my favourite quotes:

SPF-NPCC Presentation Ceremony 2010

just came back from a long and arduous day in HTA. A joyous occasion also. Today was the SPF-NPCC presentation ceremony 2010.

after math lesson today, hurried down to dnt lab toilet to change and surried to hire a cab. Took the last cab and obviously reached there last, but took the shortest distance, spending only $14.60 on the taxi fee. Went into HTA, changed, and joined squad 5. Proceeded to LT2 to place our barangbarangs, then went for uniform inspection which took place at the corridoors. made some adjustments and proceeded to mess for some refreshments, where crapped with gideon and people.

after that, went into the harmony hall, for the rehearsal and sitting arrangement. After some long list of name calling, it was my turn, and had a practice run with commandant npcc. after that, some parents came and we took a short break. Everyone was out, looking at the NPAP training, flashing back to last year being part of it. Went back into Harmony Hall, sat down and waited, for quite some time. I was sitting with a beside a guy from maris stella, and another girl, Amirah, who was from the malaysia trip. Had some simple chatting and wait for time to pass.

After that, finally, GOH arrived and everything got going. Speech, followed by prize presentation. Was awaiting for my chance, and the feeling of uncertainty did not last long. Went up the stage, shaked hands, took photos, and gotten my badge. Finally, the badge is in my pocket. After that, jiamin was giving the valedictory speech for the cohort of 2010. Some shared memories, smiling and recalling some of the interest things in my NPCC life.

Waited to end, putting on my SPF-NPCC badge, looked at our photo montage. Mine was quite fine with some editing done, and was happy with it. We had dinner after that. Taking photos now. With squad, with officers, and especially hk trip pple. 11 in total got that badge. Some mainly were there. Took there, took here, finally took one group photo with ben and jeremy sir.

After that, fall back in, took our bags, took our certs, changed and off we go.

Perhaps, this ceremony might be one of my most memorable event in NPCC. Adding SPF-NPCC badge into my collection, I have currently 19 badges in total, still waiting for my kayaking badge. Its been a long time since I stepped into the arena of NPCC, I had not regretted taking my first step. Hope to continue to have NPCC as part of my life. Not forgetting the memories and friendship forged and updated today, hope to meet up soon. This are some of the things I will never forget in my life.

happy april fools everyone. Start of april today. Counting down to the number of months left before we step down and prepare to step into the hall for our o level papers.

mon was my birthday, Thank you for all the birthday wishes, either through sms or through facebook. Thank you, and the class for singing like 3/4 times the birthday song. Thanks.

Tue was cross country. This years cross country was at macritchie reservoir. First time walking into there. Nvr run competitive this year, apparently not so fit actually. Ran mass run, 3++km, tiring. Left early for crescent investiture. Went back school with the rest, went to bath then set off for crescent investiture. I hate the school blazer, too large in size, hoping for a smaller size during my investiture. Crescent invest was nice, second time going for their investiture, similar but different. "Living and Leaving a legacy" was the theme. Good and a appropriate theme. went for their school tour again and many changes have been made to their school.

Ytd, was last day of the secondary 4 prefect doing duty. Announced the new incoming excos for the year 2010-2011. Hope we had done well and hope you all can continue with what we had done. Learnt hard and adapt fast before the excos officially step down. seek help if you need.

Today was april fools day. Quite a large amt of jokes happening today. Quite funny.

Finally, the new school banner is up, and mine banner is up too. Quite nice, but my name on the banner was wrong. Xianzzz. Heard that a larger one will be up soon, should be quite big, covering a few stories. The one like a family photo de. Should be quite nice. look forward to it.

Going to step down soon. Making all the preparation work for stepping. passing on the stuffs that we had done so far. 21st April will be mine investiture. Plannings are undergoing now, hope to have a very nice and pleasant investiture. POP is postponed further, should at 8 May. Quite late.

Hope those who have step down, to focus and work hard for olevels. FOr those who have step up, pls dun dissappoint your seniors and put in more hard work than what they had put in.

went to hq just now for the spfnpcc badge briefing. Was quite okay, but quite cramped up in the lecture theatre which apparantly could not the support the size of all the 156 awardees. arrived quite late, many was there before us. Listen to the briefing, admin stuffs, uniform inspection and more. Saw a lot of familiar faces there, congrats to those who got the badge.

Muster Parade 2010

Today was muster parade once again. Happen twice in a year. Was quite smoothly done for this time, with preparation dated as back as last december. Was happy with the results.

Started out with opening today, started quite late, but still carried on. after that started with some man power problems, but most things were fine. Thanks to all who had helped out with the logistics. Had some rehearsal. Shouting still not as good. Around 5.30, started the real parade. Was the parade 2IC, so quite okay, except screwed up for one command. Nvm. Was awarded three new badges. Homefront security, police knowledge and best unit cadet. Was quite satisfied, but wonder why nvr get my 1st class drill.

Not much time left in NPCC. After HRC, will be POP soon on 30th April. Looking back, it has been a great time and great memories that npcc has brought me too. Changing from styles and roles, i have never regretted in coming into this cca. rising up after each fall, facing all the challenges, i am greatful to all that have done a part in training us, all squadleaders, officers and other people. This cca has given me chances, opportunities, friendship and certainly brotherhood. Congrats to all 31st Batch to have sustained until this far. Hope we have a great time with our remaining time.

Always Expect the Unexpected

Anything can happen at any time. Practice is the only platform to give you confidence. But during competitions, luck still counts. Even you think it is unexpected, be practical and always expect those unexpected things.

today, went early in the morning for the slb meeting. Discussed some important things then stayed back in store and wait for the campcraft competition people. around 2pm they came. Talk for awhile then set of for pierce. Along journey to busstop, went to buy bubble tea and bun to eat. Reach there, went to see the sec 3 team. they are at the earlier slot. Well done, hope to see them in the final. NCO team was later. Second last slot. Good work, but luck not with us. Dun be discouraged, try to learn somethings from this experience.

Managed to see some of the OEV HK people just now. some in action, some supporting.
Saw, yang tze, jiamin, eileen, gideon, shang yuan, zhiwen, vladimir. Even saw jerry and teck liang sir. Hope to have a gathering soon.

Ytd, was a symbolic event for me. Did two things during npcc training. Had the school photoshoot. First time got professional camera in action. Was with gabriel mao in full uniform. Search around then took some photos. A group family photos with some primary sch, some SLB people, and teachers. Like one family, with me and mao in full u. So quite wierd. Took my single photos also. After that went off and went to my SI interview. Second last one. Went quite well. Hope to get the rank.

Everywhere and any time are learning opportunities. Observe more and you can get more. Been observing more and learning new stuffs during the interview and the campcraft comp. need to focus on some training for myself. Muster Parade in two weeks time.

long time no post on this blog. Quite busy nowadays. no time to do a lot of things. This week went quite fast for me.

Tue- Wed
E-learning at home. Not productive at all. Staring at the computer for half a day. Super tired after that.

Thurs
HCL exams. 4 hours of paper. Quite challenging. First time doing HCL paper.

Friday
EL exam. vocab was quite okay. Situational writing should be fine. Comprehension and summary were a mess, not at all able to comprehend the passage on New York. Passage B was much better.

This few weeks quite busy. Next week will be finishing off exams then off to go for chinese new year. Nothing for valentines this year. A lot of work of to be done. Need to get ready many preparation for the upcoming competition and events. Going to step down in two months time, going to make the best out of it. Final countdown. Hoep to get SPF-NPCC badge, and sec 1 swearing in is going to be in our school. Yay! Need to finish up the planning for city venture.

Many more things to go. Hope for some time for gathering also. March holidays like half filled with events already.

Life is never ending!

It is coming to an end of T1W3. Time have passed so quickly. Long time never posts, sry to all, cause really very busy with school stuffs and very tired everyday. Many things have happen and tried to accomodate with them.

Everyone is geeting busy with their school work, seriously. Trying to find time and meet for group study with the OEV HK people, but not much are free. Had one with Ching na last sunday on physics. Quite okay. Then went to watch avatar. The plot is superb and 3d movie is nice to. Hope to really meet up with the rest of the pple. Missed you all. Happy birthday to dawn also!

Taken up as a different role in CHSNPCC coucil structure. Need to take a step back and help to guide new people up. Orientation is also over and sec 1 are coming in soon. With a larger no compared then last year, hope things will work out more smoother.

Prelim coming in a 2 weeks time. Trying to revise everything. Tired souls and mind everyday relly stopped me from doing all those things. For the sake of my results, many things are sacrificed. Not much posting will be done on the blog, if possible, it will only be on the weekends.

Year 2010

the first week of 2010 had just become history. It was one of the most stressful and busiest week i had ever been. school life seems so stressed up now, especially with the constant reminders from the teachers that o levels is just 200 days away.

not much change to my class teacher. with mr heng as eng and ms elaine goh as one of the geo with paul ng and krishnan as history and krishnan as ss. two different krishnan. taught by 4 HOD teachers now.

first week was hectic with cca talk and orientation talks and helping out with the sec one stuffs.

cca talk was quite successful as compared to the other UG with only some minor screw ups and also air rifle shootout which attracted a no of sec 1.

pb talk was very successful and manage to gain some respect from the sec 1. and the sec 1 all currently know how to tie a proper tie. the full windsor knots. assembly was quite funny as some sec 2 dunnoe how to tie, while all the sec one was smartly dressed.

not much time left, tmr will be the day. Getting back my chi results. I want an A1!

2009 Year Review

It is coming to the end of 2009, with just a few more hours to go. It has been 3 years since i started using this blog. Year 2009 is quite an eventful year for me and certainly a significant year in my leadeship skills and qualities after taken over cca and slb. In this post, i will just give an overview of this year and the pple i will like to thank in making me as a better person.

Start of the year. Went to class 3-6. Was quite wierd actually, a very quiet class. but after a few days of coming together, we started communcation and the real class spirit came. We have been through together, with the hws and exams, to the jokes to the lunch meet. I have enjoyed myself well in the class and hope all you had. Continue on next year as 4-6, hope to sustain the best class as what i feel, in terms of academic and intellectually. Let us shine among the rest.

Around may, i had taken over as the chairman of CHSNPCC 31st Batch NCO council. Top post, means top responsibility. Started out quite jerky, but quite okay with the settling down of my leadership style. Learnt a lot from the officers with the events going on and i looked forward for next year after the o levels CIBTC D10. I will be back as a CI. I promise. Gotten SSgt and proceeding with the next rank in 2010. 2010 will be a new working year. Hope to nurture the cadets and prepare them for nco-ship next year. I am the Head-of-training now. Putting on a new role, a test to my leadership also.

Around june, i became the vice-head prefect of the school's prefectorial board. With my prior experience during primary sch, and also my cca, i strive to serve the school better. Starting out with a different mindset, but changed to suit the different crowd. It also marks the starting of another characteristic for myself and become a better leader. Hope for a better work year and improvements had been made. I am no longer the rookie vicehead prefect that had just taken over. I am a changed leader now. Hope for better working relationship.

Around November, i met 28 unique pple and changed my point of view on some issues. I went for the NPCC HK trip 2009. It was the second OEV that i had taken part. I enjoyed this very much and had gained comething that i will nvr forget - friendship. This friendship has enriched my life for the past few weeks, with gatherings and talks on facebook and msn. I will nvr forget u all. 2nd Jan will be the gathering. look forward to see u all. And also had gained one close friend. Talking to him/her by sms almost everyday. I will not give up on the relationship. More to come in 2010 after our olevels. I will nvr forget u.

Thanks to these people who had set a path in my life in 2009. See u in 2010.

Science Center Visit

this morning, went to singapore science center for their new exhibitions. Not that new anyway, was available before the holidays. Went with my sis and my mum. Went into the body world @ $11 after discount. Body World is the exhibition which shows us the real human corpse and animal carcasses where have been turn into exhibits. It is real and those bodies had been processed before they are turned into long turn exhibits. Some of those exhibits are quite old, which means the original person are dead for a long time. Was looking from as small as an embryo, to as large as a giraffe carcass. Overall very enriching, manage to see all the organs at different angles. Recommend to all bio students, it is much better to see them live then on the textbook. It is REAL!!!

going to have annual hike soon, so need to buy some stuffs tmr. Annaul hike prep on mon, annual hike tues, and finally the bbq for hk trip is confirmed, on coming sat, but some pple not coming, dissappointed.

merry christmas to everyone!!! Just came back from malaysia. Ytd went back to celebrate christmas with my relatives. had a simple dinner, with some bbq and stuffs. Had some fun, got some new gifts also, thanks.

Sec1 registration cum last holiday training

today was quite hectic. it was the sec 1 registration and also the last bk training during the holidays. Reach school at around 7am, talk a while, settle the npcc banner, then went to take the sec1 prefects to help out in the registration. Was in charge of the usherers. help out awhile, talk to some parents from rvps, then went around to help. Actually wanted to help in the canteen, but return to hall to become QnA person with Chiu yang. answered some common question. after that went down canteen after the hall is cleared, then half way went off to go to last bk training. Andre couldn't switch on the uv lights and said that they are spoilt. Apparently, after my magic touch, all r working fine except for one, which the "spoilt" one was fine juz that andre put the starter aside. So, the performance was quite okay, not very nice, having very high standard on them. Going to have two more practice before the actual one.

After that, cleared the audi, went back to stall with hh and yh n andre, drank bubble tea. then went to buy my school pants, which i think was like buy one get one free for me. dun wan to eleborate much. after that went to play basketball at ISH, then the rest join in and continued for two hours. after that went to pizza hut and ate the student meal again, trying the pasta instead. quite nice also.

looked at someone's blog just now, i shall not say out whose it is. Just some word of advice here, if u are looking at my blog. Being a leader is not that easy. Not much to say being the top positions of a unit. It takes up a lot of effort and time, and all might just end up to be nothing. Even if there is minimal progress, or met with difficulties, no matter how hard it will be, we must move on. Even if others dun think like you, dun apprieciate you, never lose faith. Never give up. as a leader, we are bound to get tired, and has thoughts of giving up, its normal. But dun get trouble over it, get over it, use the remaining time to have an achievable goal. Leaders alway think big, but followers dun alway agree. Thats why, try to lower your goals, and create some breathing space for yourself. Don;t safocate yourself.

Training Day

today was the seond last bk training. The attendance still the worrying factor. Haven;t had any audi training yet, hope last training can used it and going to book the audi for the start of the year. Standards still okay, but can be much higher. Saw our two new CIs today, Ruijie and Jackson sir.

After training, went to eat lunch with squadmates. Noel, Tingwei, Jeremy, clayton and me. Went to pizzahut and have the student special. $5.90 for freeflow of pepsi, a soup of the day and a baked rice. The baked rice quite nice. after that, went home, reading the book, How to have an outstanding life. Still haven't compeleted it, around 3/4 done.

Tmr, need to go school to settle some pb stuffs. Tmr will be the next hw day. Target to finish 3/4 of the hcl hw.

today was supposed to be homework day. The morning and early afternoon was progressing, manage to finish quite a bit of stuffs. But juz now from dinner, was horrible, playing with fb games all the way. Still got a lot of english and chi stuffs still not completed. everyday have to do some liao.

tmr training as usual. This week will be hectic. With sec1 registration coming up, need to be present to help out. And then will be christmas. Hope to see hk trip pple soon.

HK trip pple gathering

was wondering about the title. today, was supposingly the bbq for the hk trip pple. But it was cancelled, and chingna and vlad came out with the salvaged plan, which apparently many people could not come.

Around late afternoon, went to toapayoh hub by train, and reached there exceptionally early, and waited for the rest to come. Vladimir was ten mins late while Chingna as usual was the last. But, good improvement from last time, by cutting short the late coming time to only 30mins. Dun worry Ching na, we r not angry for u coming late. after that took bus 31 to marine parade, talk along the way(mainly Chingna does all the toking) and some enlightenment to vlad. reach there, was confirmed that many pple last min cannot come, so juz make do with the remaining pple. Met Terence and Kevin sir there and proceeded on for lunch at Carl's Junior. First time eating there, quite nice though. Dawn n Johnson came shortly after that, together.

After lunch, went to ECP and went to the bowling centre. Never bowled in the end, with juz playing of some arcade games. Not proficient in those games. After that, dawn n johnson went off. Then tok cock with the CIs before they went for the CIBTC investiture. After they left, me ching na and vlad took bus 135 to AMK hub. Reach there, went to the arcade, see vlad play the music thingy. He pro sia. after that, eat at nebo club there. the food there also very nice. Tok alot there. Stayed there for around 2 hours. Then left for separate way home.

been seeing quite a few saddening blog posts and statements on facebook. All quite saddening with their lifes. To those reading this blog, just rmb,think on the bright side of live. No matter how hard or how tiring a thing is, it will end one day. Grab whole of the opportunity, and make the best out of everyday. treat ytd hipcups as a learning experience, and make sure those hipcups wun happen twice. stay optimistic on the following day, a rainbow may appear, and things will be much smoother than before.

today had training with the BK. Quite okay, attendance still a problem. Did not get to use the audi due to some renovation there. So only one audi training afterall. After that, did a newsletter in microsoft publisher, a nice software. Completed almost everything, then went out to play basketball with squadmates and kairong. Played for awhile, went for a late lunch at KFC. Eat, took some photos and went home.

Today, was my first hw day. Quite productive today. Just now just finished some science ws. Hope to finish most of them later on.

went to hougang mall with my mum this morning. Did some banking work then went to purchase some shirt for CNY. Bought a white top, quite nice, then went for lunch at KFC. had buddy meal with my mum, love the chicken, very nice. bought some grocery then went back home. then started my polishing for my boots and belt with the new kiwi. Last time polished was at hk. quite screwed up the polishing was. boots are quite nice now, belt completed like 1/4 of it. Polish another day.

later will complete some of the ws. next hw day will be coming sunday. Wanting to complete some of the comprehension and the cl work. Tmr got training as usual and hike briefing. Going to start on the projects soon.

Just some update from the book I am still reading. Read around 1/3 of it. The book is certainly aspiring and mostly the quotes that I had put are from the book. Just as the title says, this may be one of the few methods to start your day. When you wake up, ask yourself, "how do I feel?". Reply one of this,I am feeling good, I am great, I am sensational!!!. Maybe this you perk you up for the rest of the day.

Today just went back school for training as usual. BK finally on the rehearsal phase, but the attendance is not satisfactory. attitude is much better, but more are expected. Had half an hour of basketball in the ISH, alone, having some self training. Felt that my techniques have improved. After that, had lunch with squadmates and return home after that.

Today wasn't that productive, with no work done also. Been reading pples blog and picked up a habit. Setting a homework day. This idea was from jacinth. See whether it works for me.

BBQ this sat has been postponed. But i think there should still be a gathering organised by ourselves. Look forward to it. Hear from u all soon.

Tmr will be my hw day. Gonna complete some stuffs or else gooing to cramp up my remaining holidays with those stuffs.

A Day with More to Achieve

Today, was a rather peaceful day for me, but not quite achieving. Woke up at 0730 in the morning and went to school for some briefing on city venture 2010. Along the mrt journey day, continued with the book "how to have an outstanding life". Been reading that book nowadays. It really perks me up when reading it as it let me have different points of views on different things and gives me knowledge to handle other stuffs.

After that meeting, had lunch with hh n levine at S11 and tok about some random things. After that went back home by the bus and continued with the same book. Finished 1/3 of the book already. Reached home, did some proposal stuffs and was chatting with some pple juz now, nothing much was done.

Many things to be completed, but quite reluctant to do them. Tmr will have the next BK training, hope that there will be a change in the attitude and things will then be able to move on.

Now, I will try to update this blog everyday, as it marks my change in my life and other viewpoints. And ending off every posts with a quote that i had learnt.

what i am into until the end of the holidays

It will be quite busy for the rest of the three weeks of the holidays, with homeworks and quite a lot of things not done yet. Very busy in fact, with everything piling to the last and a lot of things to settle. As many can see, change the template of my blog, and changed my writing style too. Started to write in paragraphs rather then sentence. Hope to improve my english standard.

Things that I will be into

1. Homeworks

Until now, just completed like only one worksheet. Still left the 15 comprehension, english projects, chinese hw, bio essay, bio ws, chem ws, and much more to be completed. Going to have some motivation to do them.

2. NPCC

Completing the BK training quite soon, with the syllabus almost finished and starting with the actual rehearsal with the song. Problems still lies on the motivation and effort and of course, the attendance. Will be into city venture 2010 planning and some admin stuffs in the store. Going to assign duties soon to clear the areas of the store. Completed some parade sequence for next year, so won;t be too busy next year, and certainly prevent screw-ups. School orientation also coming soon, with our prep starting from the registration day. Hope to attract more people to npcc under our advertisement.

3. PB

Done with the duty list, with new iniatives coming up. More welfare and motivation will be given to them. Hope for a better work year 2010.

4. Self-enriching

Just now juz borrowed a book from library, called "How to have an outstanding life" by Paul Smith. Was like spamming the book juz now, and mainly talk about leadership and management of stuffs. Quite inspiring, going to find books like that to read. Felt motivated to do stuffs after reading it. Going to post more of this review of the books after I read them.

5. Self-training

Need to start to train up my physical and mental strength. Just set some new goals and hope to achieve them. Training up for my napha next year, want to get a very high score in total. Also training up for the shooting com next year, hope to get further than this year, as this year was definitely a screwup for me.

6. Friendship

Going to sustain the valuable friendship as I had mentioned in my last post. Hope to meet you all soon, which is this sat for the bbq and event, and hope for some group study or stuffs where we can get together.

Its going to be busy, definitely, but its achievable with the remaining 3 weeks. Hope to aspire and inspire others. Aim high, Achieve High.

follow up of HK trip

NPCC Hongkong Macau Trip was certainly a eye-opener for me, and certainly had given me plenty of memories and friendship that I will never forget. Apart from the nice experience of sight seeing at the various police depts and place of interest, I have brought back something that I valued the most - friendship.

After coming back from hongkong, my life is just going round and round with these hk tip friends. Maybe is not the all the 29 pple from different schools, but certainly some of them have given me many memories during the trip and the two weeks after the hk trip.

Before that trip, I don;t have much friends, or friends that I always wanted to hang out with. After the trip, the friendships that I had gained are certainly valuable to me. After coming back, I had been online every night on the msn, and only scrolling down my contact list with the group "OEV Hongkong and Macau" and see who are available to chat. On facebook, I had been looking at the different profiles and updates of the hk trip friends.

I value these friends that had been with me for the past few weeks. May the friendship last and thanks for the wonderful experiences and memories created with the outings/gatherings with all of u.

Although I don't talk much during the gatherings, or as what you all are saying where i am stoning, I am actually observing and listening. So sry that i dun talk much as I had tried hard already.

Camps

This week was the busiest week during the holidays.
Went for two camps.
OAL camp and CHSNPCC Annual Camp.

Practically now i am still tired,
although after a long sleep ytd.

Monday
went to school in the morning,
meet up with 10 of the rest of the oal
then was briefed by mr han
then we took over and briefed the leaders to be

we r needed there to help to train up the leaders
then they can help out with the school activities next year.

me and nic wee was together with grp 1 as their ics
proceeded on with the hike to the changi campsite
after they had planned their route
originally, their plan was walk to yiochukang
then sengkang
then bedok,
then reach changi
luckily they changed and went to the easier track
like wat my grp did last year
had lunch at a canteen
quite okay de food
sms there to clear my boredom
continued on
went to marine parade to have a break
then behind us was a hdb flat
which was on fire
we were wondering why there were so many fire engines coming
continued on to ECP
walk down the whole stretch of beach and reach the campsite second
waited for a while for some other grps
had dinner
and played some team building games
then mr gohs group came back
finally, as usual
had debrief
then went to sleep
where some of them was playing true or dare
and i was like woke up then they spin to me
then had to played on

quite funny though,
beginning to like this game

tueday
woke up
had some stretching with the campers
had breakfast
then went down to sea
was the first to launch out
so fun for the rest of the day
with some the tired looks of the leaders
quite slack actually, did not paddle that long dist like last year
beach up for lunch
then launch out again
that time the wave quite big
so was enjoying the waves
was like going directly against the wave
then the kayak went up and crash down on water
love the sea seh
then went back
still quite early
played catching
using kayak
was like spamming the paddle everywhere
still got caught in the end.
then all oal capsize in the sea
with the thick kayak called dolphin
which was not meant for capsize
as the base was very big
capsize already then cannot empty the water
so beach up and clear the water
while the rest of campers went back up
had a hard time
then dragged our kayaks back
was pissed off after that
then cleaned up
and ate the last dinner
proceeded with some cameras
taking some photos
now all on facebook
then went back with the np guys for the next day camp

wed - fri
npcc camp
overall quite okay
certainly had improved my leadership skills
and planning skills also
also learnt a lot from the officers
and had some new views on leadership

"leaders have to sacrifice for others
leaders have to see the bigger picture
if things have to be done, no matter how harsh the conditions are, it have to be done."

OEV Hong Kong & Macau 2009

i am back
from OEV HK & Macau

this 7-day-6-night trip
i had learnt a lot
from my peers and my officers
thank you for all your assistance and guidance.

Day1
gathered at terminal 3
had some briefing, then checked in luggage
then took group photos.
went around airport with shang yuan and faizal
and went to the boarding area after that.
took plane, benjamin was beside me with gideon over another side
quite fun though
long time never sit in a plane
reached there was around late afternoon,
took our luggage and then saw our tourguide, patrick
Hk was very cooling
we were like shivering
went to restaurant and had our first meal
afterthat, went up to victoria peak and the wax museum
spam quite a lot of pictures there and the haunted house was fun
went with hweecheng, wiky, faizal
then went down by a tram
and back to hotel
we celebrated nishan and jiamin birthday there with a small cake
then went back to room 730
with my partner vladimir from Maris stella

Day 2
had breakfast in a restaurant
then went to old central police station
went into their prisons
and even where they used to clean bodies
then for lunch
then went to police college
it was the same as the hk drama
so nice
went to their fake "city"
and was taking photos around
went to avenue of stars
took photos again
then went for barbeque dinner with the JPC member
it was so fun as all of us were playing games
and singing songs
after that went back hotel
debriefed and slept

Day 3
went to have dimsum breakfast
went to dog unit and tactical unit after that
was fun with their demos
after lunch went to marine
took their ship to cheung chau island
was fun and cooling due to the speed of the boat
after that tour around cheung chau
went to jpc clubhouse
had some games
had tour around the island
then went for seafood dinner
after that took ferry back to hk
then back to hotel
debriefed
slept

Day 4
went to dimsum breakfast again
then went to central police station
had some introduction to jpc
while CI introduce npcc to the rest
then went for some tour
bought a water bottle carrier
then went for lunch
after that went to jpc taipo clubhouse
had some games with the small kids
then went dinner
then open top bus and tour around hk
then went to ladies street
went to buy a watch at only $5 sing
so cheap sia
then went back to hotel
debriefed and slept

Day 5
breakfast
then disneyland!!!
everyone was so excited
went for a tour
learnt about animation
and i drew a mickey mouse
quite nice though (as wat rebecca said)
then went for our own rides
with wiky hweecheng shiying dawn
then went for some rides
the rollar coaster was fun
not that scary
then went for other ridess
went to shop
then waited for the fireworks
it was awesome and so ncie
did not buy much things
went back hotel
prepare for check out
went to some room for "party"
but chased out quite quickly

Day 6
went to check out
the breakfast
then took ferry to macau
chaotic then carrying the big stuffs
then travel to macau
then went to some museum and temple
then went to buy some almond biscuits
ate their tarts also
very nice
took photos at the st paul ruins
then went for a buffet lunch
then went for some activities at flying eagle association campsite
some random games but was fun
then went for dinner at a hotel
quite nice
then went to another flying eagle place
played a few games
everyone was so high then including myself
it was the last night anyway
then went back to hotel
check in
the hotel was much nicer than hk
bigger and more luxury
and was party time
lights out at 1.30
so fun
played true or dare
then was very funny
with some pranks here and there
we enjoyed ourselves
ended with some pumping activity

day 7
last day
everyone woke up a bit later
had breakfast together
now everyone was like having so much fun
joking and chatting all away
then we check out of the nice hotel in macau
took ferry back
then check in to hk
then went for lunch with some people
then shop a bit
and we rushed at the back
as we thought our boarding gate is very near
rushed there
we took a airbus A380 together
was at the second last row
sitting with gideon, hidayah and terence sir
had some camwhore
so funny there
nishan was so "popular" with the staffs there
went down the plane at around 2000
then was having our last photo together
debriefed
went to check out
took some photo
and went home

this trip was so interesting for me
friendship is also more bonded then the malaysia trip
hope to maintain the relationship

3-6 Class Chalet & CHSNPCC Rec. Camp

i am back from a 3day 2 night stay at pasir ris downtown east
for two different events.
one was 3-6 class chalet which was at aranda from wednesday
the other was sec2 recreational camp at aloha from ytd.

overall was fun, but the nights were quite boring

took 89 on wednesday to white sands there,
met the rest of the 3-6
and had our lunch
after that, walked with dic,kr,nn,clay,wm to aranda
while the rest took bus which was like just one stop.
found our room, no 2225, then was starting to mingle around.
started playing card games and more
variety of all sorts
then played my first ps2 game on a racing game
lost quite a lot
after that mr ng came and we started the bbq
nvr helped much and ate what was edible
as mostly was either raw or "chao da"
after that went back room and started cards again
mr yong came shortly and he bought ice-cream for the whole class
thanks mr yong!!
after the played card game with ....
then mr ng and some came back with a cake
for ronald and tin hsiao (but tin hsiao left)
after that me and a few stayed back in the room
spamming the ps2 football game
most went to watch the sponsored movie
some went to have a tough ride around pasir ris/changi
looked at the tv for like the whole night
then went for breakfast
came back
found some spot to sleep
and later slept on the bed
fall asleep very quickly
then was woken up to go bowling
played 2 games
107 and 115
quite okay now, all average more than 100
after bowling
prepared to go to Wild Wild Wet which was just next to out chalet
and we had the entire view of the place from the room
went with the other 7
played everything
very nice
loved the u-shape thingy
after that cleaned up and rushed to aloha for rec camp
reach there quite late
started eating wat the sec2 had prepared for us
the food was definitely nicer
all edible
spammed the prawn which was so nice
was talking with andre about stuffs
then went back to aranda at 2130
after that, went for some shopping
and ate some desert at mac
which i exchanged my small fries
went back and everyone started to rest
me n noel was sleeping in the living room
could not sleep well
not sure why
was on the hard cold ground
woke up at around 5 plus
and started meddling with the ps2
played TMNT
went for mac breakfast again
with joel and noel
talked and crapped a bit
then went back room
took my bag and left for aloha
aloha resort was much larger then the aranda
facilities however not that good
a lot of cath. high people are also there
cleaned up and check out
debriefed and some of us went back for bowling
with dy
quite fun
more score all quite average again
played 3 games
100 plus the scores
went for lunch with wm n nn
then went back home

100th Post - Summary of the school year

today is the first day of "holidays"
this school year has been a wonderful and stressful year for me
taken over cca as top
taken over prefectorial board as exco
a lot more of leadership exposure for me
and i have certainly trained up by my people
and training them as well

my personality has changed quite a lot
from those not that close to people
i have learn to talk much more

went through quite a lot of leadership camps and course
and they have certainly benefited me

going through some tough times
with studies, cca and extra commitment
i have balanced my time well
but more can be done

CCA
taken over as the top
trying to push everyone up to the top
everyone is improving
we need more vigorous training
and through advices that my officer has expose me to
i have certainly improved
i will like to thank my batch for working with me
although scoldings are given
you all have certainly think through my words.

This year, manage to went back to RVPS, my primary school,
to help out in some activities
although only went back for just a while for the p5 camp
still happy to be back with the alumni
although its only a few hours helping out
i love it
i will be certainly coming back for p5 camp 2010
as my first time being a facilitator
maybe a senior facilitator

99th Post

It's about two years since i have started this blog,
in the end of 2007.
I am finally reaching my 100th post, which will be coming soon.
Hope to post something special on that.

today went back to sch for chem remedial
quite okay, with kua sore throat.
played basketball for a while then went for lunch
after much decisions, we went to pizza hut.
Sat with minhao, clarence and ivan
ordered a chicken baked rice
quite nice
and drank quite few cups of pepsi
after that crapped awhile and bought some side dishes
total spent 9dollars
quite cheap

after that went back home
went to hougang mall
finally bought my water booties
it is Adidas Jawpaw
it is dirty green in colour with black stripes
hope to go to sea soon to use it

physics remedial tmr and officially tmr will start my studying mood.
Slacking around this few days,
looking at blogs at friends and some friends who do not know me.
been not in studying mood, but change is coming.
going to complete the holidays hw and start on my own revision kit

Last day of term 3

today was finally the last day of term 3
but it was still quite hectic.
original plan for today was to have our HCL prelim 3 paper in the morning.
However, the NYGHS sap school event is on today,
thus we were exempted from the exam in the morning.

Had morning meeting again
as normal dismissed them to duty
then helped out in some arranging of benches
then took my bag and got ready for the event.
Departed from school with the other 29 cath high student and 4 teachers
was late again.
There was like 10 student leaders and the rest were china student
no comments

Reached there at around 0850
with some other schools which arrived around the same time as us
the 10 SLs went to an auditorium to watch the "live" telecast of the event at another auditorium,
on the way up, saw jiahan from RVPS
then when we just got our seats, the emcees started introducing.

Everything was quite smooth for the event,
had a break in between and had a walk with the exhibition
and just look around the school
hoped to search for ideas for improvements for our own school
after taking the break, went back to the auditorium for the second round.
The second round was quite boring but still managed to learn some new stuffs.
for this event, saw quite a number of RVPS peopel
jiahan (same audi), huiwen n her close friend (forgot her name) - during the break
joshua during the break and joey (during dismissal)

after taking the bus back, had our lunch and the HCL students got ready for their "re" HCL paper 2
doing at the level 2 of the freezing library
managed to complete the whole paper (some parts quite tricky)

after that rushed for PB sec 1 interview
still on time for the first group
thanks tiger for buying us Mac
started to eat my mac quickly
quite hungry (dunnoe why also)
overall comment on the people coming for interview
some have potential, some were quite blur, some need to be more confident
reminded me of when i was sec 1
sitting down there, with dan beside me and the teachers in front of me
but now everything had changed
soon, it will be our turn to step down and passing down to the next batch.

Happy Teachers' Day 2009!!!

today is teachers' day
went to SLB room in the morning
where i found joel locked outside of the room as his key was taken by marcus
opened and went in to chat
nothing much to plan for teachers day as everything still lies with the student council
got ready with the morning meeting
where everyone was pretty excited
after some briefing for the concert later,
we presented the gifts that we had bought on sat to the 5 discipline teachers
after that, as per normal, the morning assembly
everyone was like joking around, not that serious anyone
who cares, its Teachers day

after the morning assembly, was asked to be in the hall for some briefing by SC
lack of communication and planning still led to some miscommunication
which sort of wasted quite some time
after that went back class for some 15mins lesson
on conduction, convection and radiation
there will be more class tests coming up so have to prepare them soon.
it was a long recess which was quite chaotic
managed to go to the hall to prepare for assembly
and saw some of the rehearsals, the dance was pretty nice
then the students settled in the hall
and awaited for the performances to start
the student leaders were busy settling the souvenirs stuffs
i was giving mrs tay her gift, which includes a candle with a holder, a voucher and a packet of cookies.
after that took a ricola sweet from ms tan
and we were finally dismissed

went back to primary school with andy
on the way saw jenna at sengkang lrt
went there signed in and i was just looking around
saw the head prefect (current) which obviously she does not know me
not sure who are the vice
they are much busy as a head prefect now as they still need to perform
while in my era, i was just planning.
Then went to find huang lao shi in her usual classroom
which she has her remedials with 6.1
went up and saw the bunch of 6A-08 people
saw emily, fangshuo, and people
nvr get much time to talk to them
then was like crapping around with the juniors
and later bumped to elton and gang and went off with them
saw sheryl, yuxiang, and people
went down to find mrs ng
and we starting a small gathering
with mrs ng preparing her DIY masks for her dinner today
started to crap with YX, elton, sheryl and jenna
and weiting came in between after her lessons
after that at around 3.30
we split our way back home
and actually meeting for a movie
but it was cancelled as only elton, sheryl and me wanted to go
maybe we can go for a gathering soon 6A-06

today was such an enjoyable day
as managed to get back most of the marks
today, almost all the marks for all the papaers were check
and only additional math was not yet confirmed as there were some change in the marks
I was super happy with the marks for this term
and I had to sustain this result to get As in the overall
as first semester did not perform that well

so these are the results

Eng - 71 (A2) first A for english in CHS
HCL - 81 (A1)
E math - 84 (A1) not so sure
A math - should be around an A2
Physics - 75 (A1) careless, need to sustain all the test marks to get higher, but SPA still highest in class
Bio - 74 (A1) bio master this round, but overall still quite low, B4 only, final year will prove all
Chem - still not sure
Combined Humans - 82.5 (A1) SS was overall well done, History a bit lower then expected
Geo - Still not sure, but not too good for common test

so currently overall 467.5/600
and average 77.9%
but some of the subject i had expected to not do well

Area 4 Survival Training Camp

Finally, the survival training camp was over.
Overall, this camp was quite a success to me
and I certainly enjoyed it.
This camp is useful and also taught me many things.

Dayone
After the add math paper and biology,
I waited for the recess bell to go off
and i am officially dismissed
to go for the survival training camp.
I gathered in the store after lunch break and gotten ready to go over.
I went up the bus with the sec 2 to accompony them with jacky sir.
Long time never see him already.
Took a short nap and reach the jetty very shortly.
Went to assemble and soon took the bumbboat over and gathered at the basketball court there
I was later assigned to group three
and was briefed by the camp cord, ziyi maam and mick sir.
Our group was called Nike
and we started planning our cheer and stuffs.
More and more schools join in gradually and more familiar faces were seen.
My group have Wen hao, Chuan Kai, Daneesh, Weimin, Jia Wei, Jasper, bryan, gavin and mroe and mroe.
After that, we started the camp with a treasure hunt.
walk around ubin and reach back to the campsite the last.
Dun have bag check so proceeded on with tthe admin and stuffs.
After that pitch tent,
was in the same tent with shaun, weimin, jasper, felix and jiawei
was the first group to pitch up,
competing with the full cath high grp.
This year the meal is much nicer,
no need to cook as all are combat rations.
then was campfire discussion
manage to get some ideas and formed up a skit
then was mass debrief and sentry and slept
first time able to sleep soundly due to the tiredness of the exams.

day 2
woke up in the morning
and gotten ready for physical training
lead by joseph sir
was quite okay and quite fun during the sing a long during the run
then breakfast and gotten ready for the land expedition and jetty jump.
Went around ubin during the land expedition
with Desmond sir, vincent sir, jiahui and wenqi maam.
Quite fun but it started raining
so delayed and did not manage to finish the whole journey
went by the dirt track/shortcut
back to the campsite
came back with a pair of muddy shoes.
gotten back and known that the IRC did not manage to do anything due to the rain
got ready for the jetty jump
everyone was excited about that
i jumped the second
when step on the board, the feeling was so intense
the few seconds seemed like hours when dropping down
then whoosh it went into the sea
shiok is the only feeling i felt
after that clean up and prepared for lunch
everyone was waiting for us
after lunch was IRC
i was looking forward to this
have a short briefing and i found out thtat the challenge was much safer
with theCBD
help out with the ladder for a while
and went up to challenge
i went for the harder one cus the easier one tried before
it really test my physical powers
first time so tired after doing high elements
it was a triangle shaped station
3 station
first one quite easy when got the hang on it
second one was commando hang
super tired after that my hand no strength and neck very pain
got an abrasion in the ankle area becus of that
last one was balancing
started by holding the rope
but instructor told me to go back and try without holding
in the end with much effort still manage to cross over
delighted
AFTER irc WAS dinner and wash up
bath quickly and got ready for the campfire
it was so high at that moment
the sec2 came shortly from bahru campsite
and joined us in the songs
then we proceeded into the ring
campfire, i was sitting with nadeesh
was so high throughout
talking and cheering out loud
camp closed and all went back to foyer
had the survival games which was quite boring for me as not enough time
debriefed and slept

third day - last day
suddenly woken up by fire drill
rushed down and started the tekan session
but still managed to pull through
i think the clearest memory i had was the fire drill
and i still managed to learn the most thing in that.
The punishments and style given by the instructors
their orders impressed me
going to pick up that skill soon
useful for unit camp
then pt by yan hao sir
was quite fine
but not the abs part
very suan
after that we had unpitching of tents
then followed by the finalle activity
our group won that and earn 60 points
the ifrst win in the camp
then we continued with area cleaning
was quite xianzzz as our group was pumped becus we help the tents
after helping to clean the foyer, then the canteen, then the mess tins, then stove
so was quite unhappy for that
but that will be just a pass and parcel
so nvm
continued with the other activities
and was debriefed by SMS
and was waiting for the final briefing
eat watermelon by the instructors and waited for the sec2 to come
prize presentation
sec2 nvr win anything
i dun blame them cus we were like that before
this year our squad finally got one booster
jeffrey was the best camper
unit spirit all come back liao
kale again was the female best camper

after that, all were dismissed back into the unit
and was lead by YH sir out to the jetty
we were like chionging all the way, overtaking schools
but we managed to push on
returned to mainland and waited to debrief
crap with the sec 2
and was dismissed
eat lunch with jeff and guys and went back early cus my parent came to fetch me

this camp had layed the foundation for me to come back
as a CI after pop
i loved the family of area 4 instructor and hope to come back
wait for me CIBTC D10
learnt a lot of things from the inrtuctors
mostly on how they punish, encourage and scold
all useful to push up the unit standards
more hard core work to be done

A tiring day

Today was the second day of the mastery review.
yesterday was the chinese and math paper.
the chinese paper was a bit challenging.
and almost not enough to complete the whole test.
Nevertheless, still managed to do quite fine for it
as some of the answers gone through by another class was correct.

Math was easy for everyone of us who took it.
No determinant and challenging questions.
All was just simple concept
and some accuracy in the answers.
The others was just fine.

We had our LOTF presentation also.
Done very smoothly
although some lagging parts during my presentation
overall was good
thanks to the research that we had done for this.

Today was the physics and e history day.
Elec history was quite smooth
manage to spam all the information into that two pages.
My conclusion was like 3/4 the page.
Reliability should not be a problem.
After that was physics,
quite shocking with the questions
but manage to answers some of it.
Hope to get a high score for that.

Today was like super busy and tired.
Was like trying to finish revising the 5 essays of SS
Chemistry and spamming some geo notes.
I think I have to use my visualization skills again.
If there is time, i will try to memorise,
if there isn't, i will try to capture the image of the page and capture the important points/
Hard to use that for geo and ss
tmr go to school still have to study to recap by brief studying of today.

The day after will be the Survival Trainign camp plus the end of mastery review.
Still have not packed my bag
and i have a goal to acheive during this camp
See whether i have make it in my next few posts.

due to the lack of time and lack of preparation.

Today was certainly boring for me.
Woke up at 830 today
then scan through the chinese newspaper
after that, had my breakfast

Managed to watch television
and started to study physics
kinematics and physical quantity
then had my lunch
after that lunch,
i slacked all the way then switched on my comp.
Finally alias with yx, yc, n shaun for the LOTF project.

At around 2.30
set off to bishan library to do the project
went to the topp floor,
then walk one big round before finding yc n yx who are hiding at one corner.

National Day Celebration 2009

Today was the national day celebration.
This year, NPCC was the GOH for the parade.
The GOH was all ready by 7am today.
I was the parade commander for the event.
I did some of the preparation and got ready for the final rehearsal.
The rehearsal was quite a screwed up
as did not manage to execute properly.
We were dismissed for a break and went to report my temperature.

At around 8am
The parade was formed up and the school was ready.
After the emcee had finished, I marched in and took my position.
Sized up the contingent and march in the GOH.
After the long full sequence,
we had the march past.
"Kawalan Kehormatan, dari kiri, chepat jalan"
and the band went on and the GOH march on.
After marching under the indoor sports hall,
it was finally declared over.
We had some photos and a debrief.

To all who had participated in this year parade,
thank you for all your hard work and commitment.
To the teachers,
thank you for guiding us along in the preparation of the parade,
we had learnt a lot from this experience.
To my CC,
thanks for all the sweat that you all have given to maintain the standard of respective contingents
To all cadets,
thanks for pushing yourself on despite having a lot of scoldings from us
To the GOH,
you all have done us proud and i am certainly proud of you all.

After the parade,
noel, clay, ronald, andy, shaun,weimin and me rushed back to the grandstand
to take our prize
throphies for the rig-challenge
from mr Lee.
After that, took some more photos
and changed to class tee
and joined the class for the competition.

Then, I was told that the school compound was vandalised again.
This time was the plaza and the rock wall.
I went up to take a look.
The one at the plaza was cleaned off,
but not for the rock wall.
It was spray paint again.
The vandalism was targeted at a teacher,
although i seriously thinks that the teacher is a respectable teacher.
I hope the school can find out who is it soon,
and i seriously condemn those who had made such atrocities.

Our class won 3rd in the inter class soccer
and our class seemed to bond very well.
Mastery review is coming soon next week
and still checking whether can meet up with the OBS people
on National Day.

Leadership

leadership is not a position
but a responsibility

leaders are not someone who empowers
but someone who influence

leaders are not perfect
but definitely not slackers

this few days
dealing with leadership stuffs
pls dun blame me if i am being harsh on u all
either npcc or pb
i have my reasons for it
i will continue to push on
and i will not close one eye

there are lot of things that leaders do
not just physically,
mentally too
preparations are done beforehand
even the type of punishments that u all have received

to the slackers out there
pls do not try to challenge the leaders
they can see what u r doing

leadership is all up to yourself
whether u wan to take it or not
is whether u want to train up your leadership skills
camps, lectures, courses
all value of leadership are similar

SAP school talk @ NYGHS

from schools from singapore n shanghai

in the morning
took the blazer
went for morning meeting
then changed to formal wear
then waited for bus
went off quite late
making us arriving late
with others school starting first
we wnt to Nanyang Girls' High School
facinated by the new campus
large and organised
i love the surroundings

went to a conference room
we were led by a SL
called liang han
if i rmb correctly
then we were presenting
with CHIJ ST NICS
and one Shanghai No.3 girls school
the presentation was fine
gone smoothly
then break
then started to discuss and the combined presentation
took some photos
i was the director 2 for the presentation
went into one live telecast room
quite nice
new tech
a bit screwed in the ppt

had normal school assembly
had our math lesson at lt

then we went off with mr yong
for the marine carnival

mr yong drove yichao's team
mine n noel went by taxi
took taxi
went there
was like in the sun for a while
then failed the infared scanner
then had to be "quarantined"
then back to normal
then went into venue
saw chester sir
he was the emcee
then gotten our place
did some final adjustments
we were in race 6
noel in 1 n chao in 7

My OBS Journey

just came back from a 5 day course
at Outward Bound teritory
at Pulau Ubin

1st Day
gathered at around 0730 at OBRC
met with the other cath highs
before proceeding in
was assigned to our groups
ronald, bryan, lennard n me was in grp 7
after that
waiting for the other sch to come
n some joined our grp
then was the opening by faizola
an instructor
n did some briefing
n introduce each n every grp's name
plus instructor
our grp was called
MARCO POLO
the first traveller around the continents
and our instructor was Ann
a previous staff of MOE
after that we took our grp photoes
and boarded the bumbboat
n started our OBS journey
with our grp mates
when we reached
Ann brought us for a tour
n introduce some of the places in camp2
gathered in our circle formation in blk5
n have our introduction
the starting of MARCO POLO
the forming stage
played some games
n noe more faces
then we discuss our roles during the course
n i was the day4 ic
went to MPH
then had our lunch
biscuits, apples, n a lot more
then went to the store and gotten the first look of it
quite nice
lots of stuffs
we tried to unpack the things
n we went in n have a briefing too
then we went for belay sch
but before that we had a trust fall
but in a smaller scale
fun
played with faizal n amos
after that did belay sch
quite okay
another style of belaying
after that had some discussion n we were taught how to pitch a tent
by Faizal instructor
which is the instructor from our buddy grp
after that taught about field cooking
then the girls ccok n the boys pitch
ppitch until the sun fall then finish

n we started talking

than we have to pack up
half way had fire drill
took a bit too long
had our debrief

n went to sleep
was in a tent with tthe cath highs

after breakfast
get ready for our high ropes

managed to drag him up to the top
i was like free climbing by myself
than belayed joy n people

which is what i always wanted
the 20m tall wall
hope to do something that tall

n prepare for our kayaking
i was paired up with joy
which was decided during lunch

went for some boring lessons

to test the buoyancy of the life vest

than we tried capsizing
first time
i was like having a hard time doing the capsize drill
cus someone like reluctent to fall into the sea
than joy was like pop out a stupid question
which i just ignored
capsized n back to shore
learnt the TX rescue

than we started our journey to camp1
paddled half way
than we did TX rescue
me joy with amelia n zainab if i not wrong
capsize n unload within 4+mins
the water like a bit shallow
completed n we went off to camp1
when we reach quite late liao
rushed to change to fresh set of clothes

than went to the canteen to eat
the food super nice
than we later proceeded on with our sea expedition briefing
i wanted to be that but nvm
zhiguang was the sea ex leader from MP
than we were leaded back to an ulu place
pitch our tents in dark
n slept
i joined another tent
with zhiguang, qikai, n woonkiat
they were like spamming the snake powder
i almost got choke

day 3
day for sea ex
we woke up
unpitched
set back to camp
eat our breakfast
than changed back to our wet clothes again
life vests
get ready to set off
was with joy again
our grp damn united
the boys break up n let the girls to join in
so that it will be so called speed boat
i was with joy
so we paddled off
she was like energetic at the start
kept asking questions
but she started to get tired
than stopped the talking
than she was like damn xianzz
but i love it
i love kayaking
paddle all the way
my fingers were like half tanned
nvr get to see a jelly fish
got past mammam beach
npcc campsite along the way
memories inside them
than joy like nvr eat nor tok for damn long
we like a bit worried

we reached the campsite
a beach outside OBS compound

after that we watch the lunar eclipse
than went to sleep
slept with the same gang
this time more shiok

the tent was like shaking

woke up a bit late

i thought we late by a lot
but still manage to pack up
i was the day 4 ic
as well as the land ex leader
make sure everything is ready
called for Ann
she thought us some new things
the formation of a group
forming, storming, norming, performing n adjorning
than we were taught how to use our backpacks
than we played a game
although we were the last to leave the campsite
we caught up with the rest quickly
some took a longer route
but we managed to take the short cut
off we went to chek jawa
which is the direct right end of pulau ubin
over check points are at the right
so nothing for us to go
went there
was like the second team there
had a long discussion n briefing
than check one of the MGR
a bit off
was at the sea
so lol
went there directly
with breaks n lunch along the way
the girls were quite exhausted by then
but all of us managed to push on
we reached our first checkpoint
which is one of the temple of a german girl
barbie doll as the god they praying
than we went off to second
which was half way of a route
found that
and we went to our third
went far to in
some of the routes of the maps were not there
so we back treked
n we saw the signposts
than we headed back
like a lot of groups were there
but we were more confident
one team was confused by their instructor
but we followed what Ann told us
follow the route that we are confident
than we pushed on abit mnore
n we reached our base camp
first

last to leave, first to arrive
we helped each other massage
n had our debrief
we went to pitch our tents
n get the best place
went to bath finally
after two days of sea water
changed to my npcc shirt
saw my another npcc friend from malaysia trip
n he was wearing the black colour shirt while mine was white
bath and started to packed some of the stuffs

help to ease the tension of the next day packing up
then we prepared for our camp2 bravo celebration dinner

that we have to cook 5 dishes for one of our brother team
we like mixing everything up
played with the can opening games with the girls

all basically have stuffs to do

we exited the Marco Polo store
and we went to blk 5 n have our final debrief

quite a busy term 1 week 1 for me
started to meet all the teachers
my class quite a good class
good teachers too

started the burst programmes
on tue n thurs
quite okay with sec 1
but some dun even cooperate

quite okay

but in the end all ended
started with two rehearsals

then the whole parade

then salute
then handing over of squadfiles

for almost 2 weeks
after the npcc dae

firstly
was the SLB investiture
nice
finally appointed to be SLB
started with rehearsals in the morning
until the afternoon assembly
after the whole thing
JT started to lecture the whole sch
with disgraceful remarks

then at sat was the sch musical
Unarmed combat
was the ushers
actually
should go there with the performers
then last minute change
become 4plus reached there
when reached there
explore around
magnificent
manage to see the backstage
n the resting room
of Victoria Theatre
quite a big place though

then this fri
training
prenco taking
quite nice
but our squad is with the same problem
but at least everyone is present with full u
but some without YGB or YBB
hope to improve on that basic thing
the pnco was good
but improvements could be made
the commands are abit muffled
or cramped up
so must really concentrate then can hear
then the timing can be more accurate
overall the performance is good
